Another Source’s client, Sabey Data Centers, is recruiting a Director of Data Center Operations to join their newest data center location and growing team on-site in Round Rock, TX (just north of Austin, TX). This is an opportunity to help lead and build Sabey’s newest team at their up-and-coming data center campus in Austin!

About the role:
The Director of Operations, Central, is responsible for the 24/7 operations and reliability of the Data Center. This includes ensuring that the Data Center is properly maintained and operated.
In this role, the Director manages Data Center Managers in Austin, Texas, and other facilities within the central USA. The Director will develop and execute strategic objectives, implement company standards, manage budgets, control expenses, promote the company culture, and maintain high standards of customer service.
Salary range: $141,642 - $219,545, depending on experience
Role responsibilities:
Demonstrate effective team management and supervisory skills, including planning, prioritization, conflict resolution, and managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Understand and promote Sabey’s culture.
Develop and advocate for Sabey’s colocation business model.
Support career development for Data Center Managers by translating strategic and thematic goals.
Responsively engage with customers and internal stakeholders, both local and remote.
Hire, onboard, train, evaluate, and develop professional staff. When necessary, carry out disciplinary actions.
Ensure the data center meets or exceeds budgeted goals and objectives.
Review and approve maintenance, support, and repair contracts.
Ensure data center staff adhere to quality, scheduling, budgetary guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards.
Develop, initiate, maintain, and revise policies and procedures for the Compliance Program to achieve data center compliance certifications. Manage daily Program operations.
Periodically review and update SDC Standards to ensure their relevance and usefulness for management and employees.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Risk Management, Internal Audit, Employee Services) to direct compliance issues through appropriate channels. Consult with Corporate Counsel as needed for legal compliance issues.
Address alleged violations of policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct by evaluating or initiating investigative procedures. Develop a system for consistent handling of such violations.
Monitor compliance activities across departments to stay informed of trends and compliance status.
Provide regular reports to key customers to maintain compliance relationships with data center tenants.
Work with Human Resources and other departments to develop an effective compliance training program, including introductory training for new employees and ongoing training for all employees and managers.
Monitor and assess the Compliance Program’s performance on a continual basis, making improvements as needed.
Embrace AI platforms to adapt to the evolving landscape.
Minimum qualifications:
10+ years of management experience in a critical data center environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent experience.
Minimum competencies:
Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Excellent management skills, including planning, estimating, scheduling, risk and resource management, critical thinking, and professionalism.
Expert-level knowledge of customer, competitive, and market information.
Ability to build and maintain a highly skilled and productive team.
