Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Engineer of Purchasing to join our dynamic team in the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, components, and equipment necessary for production. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supplier management, and cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Procurement Management: Oversee the entire procurement process, from identifying needs to supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
Supplier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high-quality materials and timely delivery.
Cost Optimization: Analyze and negotiate prices, terms, and conditions to achieve cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
Inventory Control: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
Quality Assurance: Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased materials meet the required specifications and standards.
Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers.
Compliance: Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards.
Reporting: Prepare and present reports on procurement activities, cost savings, and supplier performance to senior management.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in purchasing/procurement within a manufacturing environment.
Skills:
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management) are a plus.
