Description: Our client is currently seeking a Whey Department Supervisor!
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Lead, coach, and mentor direct reports in alignment with business objectives and staff development.
Consistently assess, develop, implement and review processes and policies within the Whey Department.
Plan, assign and direct the work of whey production staff for the achievement of operational goals and objectives.
Develop and report on key metrics with staff that are aligned with company objectives including quality, safety, efficiency, yields, downtime, on time delivery, order fulfillment rate, inventory, schedule stability, resource utilization, etc.
Anticipate, support and initiate change in production control, to promote continuous improvement and efficiency within the Whey Department.
Provide ongoing communication of whey department performance toward key measures to management.
Maintain communication with the other Creamery's departments.
Manage employees who belong to a union and those that are union-free.
Troubleshoot equipment, orders, and product inconsistencies.
Develop and instill whey knowledge and capability within the Supervisory and supporting teams.
Review daily/weekly/monthly whey production initiatives with staff to ensure customer requirements are met.
Evaluate employees' performance by following up with regular positive and developmental feedback, as well as proper documentation both directly and as part of a team. This includes the administration of disciplinary procedures when necessary.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Required (Basic) Education / Experience/ Competencies and Other Skills:
Bachelor's degree preferred with advanced knowledge of Food or Dairy manufacturing a plus
5-10 years of Whey experience preferred
Job-related experience in the dairy industry of 5 years or more required.
Above average written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to lift 50+ lbs. repetitively.
Ability to operate normal office equipment.
Stand for up to 8 hours per shift.
Pass a drug & alcohol screen as well as a general background check.
