Role Description:

Arcadis seeks a highly experienced and detail-oriented Civil Construction Claims Manager for a large-scale rail tunnel construction project in New York. This position offers a unique opportunity to leverage agency experience and expertise in civil construction claims to ensure the successful execution of projects while maintaining regulatory compliance and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.

Role Accountabilities:


  • Utilize expertise in civil construction claims to assess, negotiate, and resolve disputes effectively.
  • Handle claims related to civil construction projects, ensuring compliance with agency regulations and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and legal counsel to address and mitigate potential claims.
  • Review and analyze documentation to support or refute claims, maintaining thorough records throughout the process.
  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on claims-related matters, offering solutions to prevent future disputes.
  • Stay updated on laws, regulations, and best practices in civil construction claims management.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in change management and claims resolution within large construction projects.
  • Previous experience working for agencies such as MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) or NJT (New Jersey Transit).

Key Skills and Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of civil construction processes, contracts, and claim resolution techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and agency-specific procedures in civil construction claims.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $185,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
