The Measurement Technician position is based out of Kinder Morgan's Tennessee Gas Pipeline (TGP) Compressor Station number 200 located at 14888 State Route 7, Greenup, KY 41144. This is a typical Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends. This is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Operations Specialist, Equipment and Controls Technician, Maintenance Manager, Natural Gas Operations Technician, Railway Engineer, Quality Tech, Corrosion Technician, Gas Mechanic or similar. Primary Purpose: Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, operation and accuracy of all natural gas and control facilities. Responsibilities include sites primarily from Greenup KY to Morehead KY and from Morehead KY to Clendenin WV on the 100 system including Catlettsburg KY to Greenup KY on the 100 system spur line. Also including facilities from Greenup KY to the Ohio River North on the 200 system. Essential duties and responsibilities:
Install, inspect, test, adjust, maintain, operate, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and remove advanced measurement, control and regulation equipment, and gas quality equipment
Detect measurement error, correct volumes as needed and provide supporting documentation
Monitor gas volumes through the measurement system; ensure all corrections are applied and proper gas composition is applied
Interpret and apply electrical and electronic schematics pertaining to EFM and measurement electronics
Assess all facets of assigned facilities to ensure accurate measurement and maintaining the company lost and unaccounted for gas and product with a high degree of ownership within the established corporate goals
Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed
Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties
Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns
Perform audits of custody transfer and control data when necessary
Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork
Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, policies, procedures, regulatory and tariff requirements
Work safely when performing duties while fully embracing safety programs including but not limited to safety observations, job safety analysis, last minute risk assessments, safe driving, cell phone policy, etc.
Respond timely in communications
Complete projects in a timely manner in accordance with budgets and expectations

Position Requirements
Education:
Minimum High School diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of pipeline experience.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers
Achieve and maintain all qualifications, certifications, and progression requirements applicable to the job classification
Completion of any site specific technical training that may be applicable
Experience / Specific Knowledge:
Understand and operate all measurement related instrumentation
Working knowledge of environmental and safety aspects of measurement projects
Proficient with computer skills (MS Office, operating systems, company software, and technical systems)
Basic Math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals, etc.)
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
Must respond to, and address, callouts and emergencies during and after regular business hours including after dark hours, which requires carrying a communication device
Ability to complete work assignments with minimal supervision in an acceptable time frame
Ability to estimate installation, operating and maintenance expenses associated with measurement systems
Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document, and complete work independently
Ability to successfully work in team environment
Must be able to take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow rules
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Follow safe work practices and actively participate in the safety program
The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands:
Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions
Must be able to work while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment such as, safety glasses, flame retardant clothing, steel toe footwear, respirator, etc.
Must be able to frequently, enter confined spaces, climb to and work from elevated platforms, excavated areas, stairs, ladders, walkways, etc.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, lift 26 to 50 pounds from floor to waist occasionally, and 51 to 100 pounds if required
May work in low-lit areas
Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)
A two year technical degree in, electrical, electronics, or equivalent from an approved and accredited college or university
Experience in all phases of measurement as described in the Job Responsibilities
Knowledge of gas chromatography
Working knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, measurement related portions of NEC, and AGA standards
Knowledge and experience with safe handling practices of products (gas and liquids)
Approved educational courses in all phases of measurement
