Hoefer Welker, an award-winning integrated design firm, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and licensed Project Architect with a passion of leading successful projects, growing with a progressive firm, and being an integral leader in our Jacksonville office. As a Project Architect, your role will include collaborating with team members, consultants, and clients in delivering successful building projects through a pro-active delivery process while being physically located in Jacksonville, Florida. With your exceptional technical knowledge and skills, this position will lead diverse teams in the development of impactful solutions of a variety of project types from schematic design through construction maintaining excellence of standards throughout each project. Technical responsibilities will include design collaboration, drawing documentation, consultant coordination, specifications, code analysis, and an integral part of the construction process.
Essential Responsibilities:
Lead a team of architects and technical support to complete documentation for projects of complex nature with a focus on healthcare
Prepare, coordinate, and complete document packages
Support, direct, and mentor staff within a team building atmosphere
Collaboratively work with contractors, owners, and consultants in a pro-active integrated project delivery process throughout all project phases including design, construction and post-occupancy to achieve client, project and internal office project goals
Focus on client satisfaction and their interest with a goal of additional future project related services
Develop trusted relationships with clients and project teams maintaining a high level of professionalism, accountability, and performance
Coordinate and monitor the activities of project personnel, ensuring individual job assignments are achieved in support of project requirements
Maintain an awareness of the scope, schedule, budget and status of all assigned projects
Facilitate firm and project goals of excellence in design, execution, and sustainability
Participate in recruiting and performance management of staff
Participate in the presentation of plans and documents to governing and permitting authorities for land use, zoning and permit approvals
Prepare material and write construction specifications that support detailed construction documents
Ensure quality assurance program is initiated and adhered to through the life of the project
Job Requiremetns
Education/Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent
10 to 15+ years of professional experience in an architectural practice
Above average Revit skills
Healthcare and/or commercial experience is required with extensive knowledge of local, state and federal guidelines and codes
Certification/Registration:
Architectural registration required with current license, NCARB registration and LEED Green Associate Accreditation preferred
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use insured personal vehicle in the courses of employment
Qualifications:
Highly proficient in Revit and Microsoft Office
Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
High understanding of construction methodologies and practices
Demonstrated understanding of codes and jurisdiction reviews
Great leadership, decision making, delegation, and mentoring skills
Self-motivated and with a strong work ethic to meet project design and performance goals
Ability to work independently as well as with various disciplines and types of people
