Fortinet Network Security Expert - Contract - Raleigh, NC - $65.00 - 100.00/hr.


The final salary or hourly wage, as applicable, paid to each candidate/applicant for this position is ultimately dependent on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate's/applicant's qualifications, skills, and level of experience as well as the geographical location of the position.

Our client is seeking a Fortinet Network Security Expert in Raleigh, NC.


Role Description


These 3-4 Fortinet Certified Consultants (also known as a Fortinet Network Security Engineer) will responsible for a variety of tasks related to network security and firewalls,. They will be responsible for making changes (reconfigurations) of firewalls for over 1100 customers spanning across many different industry verticals. This is a refresh, in some cases rebuilt process as it relates to implementing "best practices".


Network infrastructure
Deploying, integrating, and supporting secure network infrastructure, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiWeb Web Application Firewalls, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP


Network security
Managing network security, firewall, cyber security, and IPS requests and projects


Configuration and maintenance
Configuring and maintaining Fortinet firewalls, including VPNs, routing, and network access


Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues


Network monitoring
Monitoring and managing customers' network infrastructure and security events


Problem resolution
Handling and closing changes, incidents, and service requests in a professional way and compliant with current security standards


Technical support
Providing clients with technical support for security architecture, management, improvement, and remediation


Skills & Requirements


• What are the top Three-Five Skills:
1) 3-5 years professional experience as a Fortinet firewall expert
3-4 of the resources MUST have their NSE (Fortinet Network Security Expert ) 3 on up certification and one of them must have their 7 on up certification


2) Experience designing, implementing, and configuring Fortinet firewalls
3) Strong proficiency in configuring, managing Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security, and related technologies
They must know VPN's inside and out; and know the functionality of Fortigate inside and out.
They must know various authentication types (ie; local, etc)
They should know authentication integration, policy management, best practices
They should have a deep understanding of large scale deployments; specifically SD-WAN deployments using 3rd party authentication with Microsoft and Active Directory;
Someone should have supported multi-tenant shops where they've supported nearly 1000+ users; 1700 + devices


4) Strong knowledge of network and security technologies, including routing, switching, wireless and firewalls
5) Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI Layer Protocol Suites
