Overview
We are seeking an Operations Technician to support our aftermarket repair and upgrade business in our Goulds Pumps service shop located in Savannah, GA. Building on centuries of pump design experience, PRO Services provides an array of services focuses on reducing equipment total cost of ownership and increasing plant output, including condition monitoring, predictive maintenance contracts, field service, engineered upgrades, inventory management, and overhauls for pumps and other rotating equipment.
Responsibilities
May include:
Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements, may need assistance.
Measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points on material or workpiece as guides for subsequent machining.
Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and shapers.
Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
Sets up and operates machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
Verifies dimensions and alignment of assembly.
Installs machined replacement parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and tests operation of unit to ensure functionality and performance.
Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated.

Experience:
2-3 years machining experience
Extensive experience working with CNC Lathes and mills.
Knowledge of CAD/CAM programing
Knowledge of freehand programing and operation of CNC equipment (lathes and mills)
Knowledge of manual machines is a preferred asset but not required
Competent with manufacturing and repairing components to tight tolerances
Competent with the use of measuring equipment and accurate to tight tolerance
Competent with the selection and use of tooling while operating machines
Extensive machine set up experience, fixturing and workholding
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Journeyman ticket relevant to machining (general machinist, tool and die maker, ETC)
