Mentoring Services & Leadership Development (MSLD) serves as a go-to resource for undergraduate students seeking personal encouragement, career support, leadership development, academic advice, and more. Indiana University's Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (OVPDEI) administers MSLD as a way to support students - especially young people from underrepresented and underserved backgrounds - throughout their academic journey and beyond.
Job Summary
Mentor Apprenticeship Program: Assist MAP Coordinators with planning and developing 3-4 in-person programs that enhance student leadership development [leadership series]
Department Specific Responsibilities
Provides marketing support using existing MSLD/FASE social media too.
Enhances social media presence of planned MSLD/FASE programming.
Utilizes Canvas to support MSLD/FASE communication and messaging directed towards program's participants.
Attends 2-3 MSLD/FASE events.
Meets with MSLD executive director weekly for updates on tasks.
Other duties as directed by FASE director in support of MSLD mentoring staff with not more than 25% of duties relating to filing, copying, scheduling meetings, mailing, etc.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
Required
Must be full-time student of Indiana University
Must have 2.5 cumulative GPA
Must be at least Junior or Senior in class standing
SKILLS
Required
Self-motivated, organized, and responsible
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Suites computer applications
Possess strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Demonstrated experience with coursework, program planning, and social media platforms
