Overview: As the Category Manager for MFCP, you will be overseeing the product strategy across the company. In this role, you will play a critical part in developing and executing product strategies by assessing the various aspects of the category’s performance in sales, profitability, inventory performance with the goal of making informed decisions to drive growth, improve profitability, and enhance the overall experience of our customers. Collaborating with multiple teams, you will be responsible for managing supplier relationships and their development.
Key Responsibilities:
Technology Portfolio Management:
Along with the technology team, oversee the entire product strategy, ensuring technologies meet market needs and profitability targets.
Develop and maintain a deep understanding of customer needs and market trends.
Understand the stage of product life cycle for your assigned categories and make decisions that enhance our sales and profitability.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with engineering and sales teams to ensure the successful integration of technologies into our product offerings.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop go-to-market strategies and ensure effective product launches and sales promotions.
Engage with operations to optimize the supply chain efficiency and ensure a seamless flow of product.
Communicate with the technology team in the development and selection of the supply base.
Keep clear lines of communication with the supply chain team related to forecasts and inventory needs.
Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence:
Lead disciplined category line reviews that are customer focused, data driven, and fact based.
Understand the consumer, market, competition, products, trends, and MFCP is currently performing in the market.
Establish the strategic and tactical initiatives around our product offering.
Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements.
Use data-driven insights to make informed decisions about product positioning and investment.
Supplier Development:
Execute strategic sourcing events and supplier optimization initiatives.
Act as our primary supplier contact responsible for supplier performance and development.

Basic Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
At least 10 years sales or product management experience, preferably in fluid connector and/or hydraulic industries.
Excellent written & oral communication and strong relationship building skills required.
Detail oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Strong computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs. Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus.
Must be a good listener with above average reasoning ability and make minimal mistakes. Must be a good learner whom can assimilate product knowledge and skills as they are presented.
Must be able to understand and calculate gross profit/gross margin, add, subtract, multiply, and divide. The ability to calculate averages and other functions preferred.
Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude a plus.
Experience with industrial distribution preferred. Familiarity with industrial and hydraulic hose and fittings, especially Parker Hannifin a plus.
Must be able to work with a wide variety of people and personalities.
Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

Salary:
$115k-$130k + Incentive, commensurate with skills and experience.
