Examples of Work
Provide core and intensive services authorized under Wagner Peyser.
Review benefit payment system of unemployed job seekers subject to the Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment program.
Provide assistance with all aspects of NEworks including, but not limited to, labor market information, unemployment insurance application, unemployment insurance job seeking requirements, and resume builder.
Assist NEres customers to complete pre-orientation assessments.
Understand and provide priority of service.
Provide referral services utilizing appropriate tools and resources.
Utilize technology to accurately and efficiently schedule, track and log all group and individual orientations, sessions, and case notes in the NEworks system.
Understand and educate customers on all American Job Center partner services.
Assess ongoing eligibility for unemployment compensation and provide information for eligibility determinations.
As directed, adhere to State, Nebraska Department of Labor, Office of Unemployment Insurance, and Office of Reemployment Services policies and procedures.
Location: This is an on-site position located at 203 E Stolley Park Road, Suite A, Grand Island, NE
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am - 5pm
Requirements / Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework or training in social/behavioral sciences, business or public administration, education or related field; or experience in public/human services gathering and providing information, interviewing and assessing client needs.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in human resources, behavioral science, business administration, communication, education or marketing. Spanish/English bilingual skills desired.
Other: Valid driver's license or the ability to provide authorized independent transportation.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of: Department of Labor and American Job Center services; methods for showing and promoting agency services; NEworks system; Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
Skill in: customer service; typical office computer systems; presenting information clearly to others; assessing customer needs; database entry.
Ability to: communicate and interact with people of all socio-economic levels; maintain relationships with other agencies or community organizations; independently make decisions; work in a high stressed and fast-paced environment; maintain regular and reliable attendance.
