Job Description:
The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Communications Specialist. This position is responsible for consistent, timely, and high-quality communication between Nebraska Medicaid and the Nebraskans we serve.

Consistent, timely, and high-quality communication by Nebraska Medicaid is extremely critical for the program to continue to provide great customer service to the Nebraskans we serve.
Specifically, this existing position is a member of a team that is responsible for:
Working together with clinical, policy, plan management, data, finance, compliance and interdivisional teammates in order to craft accessible and accurate responses to correspondence; helpful guidance documents for our beneficiaries; accessible and cohesive legislative and federal reports;
Divisional strategic plans, initiatives, and related documents; and,
The position also creates and leads presentations for our providers, applicants, and beneficiaries about how best to understand and navigate the myriad programs we provide to Nebraskans.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Vocational/Technical diploma or Associates Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field and at least one year of experience in conducting public relations, information, or graphic art activities. Required experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience in government, particularly related to public assistance programs, would be useful (but not required).
Other: Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
