Description:

Responsibilities

Basic Purpose

Develops and updates mathematical models to support efficient operations and optimal utilization of demand response, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resources while maintaining safety, reliability and regulatory standards. Reviews Measurement and Verification reports for demand side management programs or technologies and helps answer data requests for multiple regulatory filings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Develops analytical models and tools to address issues such as energy portfolio construction and optimization, performance measurement, electricity demand impacts, and pricing models.

Reviews and analyzes historical data to update or train forecasting and optimization algorithms used in company enterprise and distributed computing platforms related to distributed energy resources and/or renewable energy systems. Performs root-cause analysis of the variance between forecasts and actual results to identify operational issues and methods to improve the accuracy of forecasts and performance of company programs.

Performs research and development related to new energy market, business model, and product/service opportunities.

Creates business process models to support process automation software development, and to identify resource constraints, assign optimal resources, identify cost reduction strategies and meet service level metrics.

Develops, improves, and maintains valuation models such as benefit cost analysis models for demand response, energy efficiency, and distributed energy resource programs and technologies.

Coordinates with stakeholders to validate and harmonize key model assumptions and inputs across company business units.

Responds to internal and external customers, including regulatory agencies, to answer questions or address issues related to forecasting, optimization, and valuation models. Represents company as a subject matter expert.

Ensures all compliance aspects of position are known and followed; understands and complies with all policies, codes and regulations applicable to position and company.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment

Education and Work Experience
Bachelor’s degree from accredited school and 6 or more years of related experience.

Candidates that do not possess a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 10 years of related work experience.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of:

  • deterministic and probabilistic mathematical models and analytical tools, forecasting, statistics and decision analysis.

Demonstrated skills such as:

  • Analytical, interpersonal and communication
  • Leading analyses and reviewing information from other business disciplines
  • Research and follow-thru in activities.

Equipment and Applications

PCs, word processing, spreadsheet, statistical analysis software and database software.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office environment. No special physical demands required.

Compensation

Annual Salary: $100,700 (Min) to $118,400 (Mid); Up to 15% Short Term Incentive Plan target opportunity at the discretion of the company. This is a non-represented position.
