Job Title: Lead Analyst - Non Wires Alternatives Location: Rochester NY or Binghamton NY , Brewster NY Office
Salary: The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $105k to 120k
Job Summary:
This position leads the development, analysis, evaluation, measurement, and verification (EM&V) of clean energy solutions which are part of the Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA), Non-Pipes Alternatives (NPA), and Utility Thermal Energy Network (UTEN) portfolios at Avangrid's New York operating companies including NYSEG and RG&E.
This position will work in New York to lead the success of existing and future utility programs and their resulting benefits.
MAJOR ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Support NWA, NPA, and UTEN projects throughout the project identification, development, procurement, evaluation, and contracting stages.
Prepares project work & action plans, budgets, milestone schedules by providing analytical expertise, performance tracking and reporting and partnership support.
Maintain and provide accurate project documentation. Responsible for company compliance with regulatory proceedings (including but not limited to reporting, data request responses, required filings, etc.)
Lead NWA, NPA, and UTEN procurement efforts including development and evaluation of requests for proposals (RFP) to select viable projects.
Perform and review benefit cost analysis (BCA) for potential NWA, NPA, and UTEN projects in New York as required.
Serve as a subject matter expert and lead the ongoing development and utilization of the New York BCA Handbook, and incorporation of the BCA and other screening methodologies into distribution and transmission system planning analyses.
Lead the development and oversight of EM&V requirements including holding project developers accountable for performance.
Participate in external discussions and collaborate with other neighboring utilities.
Present project information in various settings and to different audiences including internal team, leadership, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
Understanding of Distributed Energy Resource planning, performance measurement and verification, and system impact.
SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required. MBA or Master's degree preferred.
Experience leading the implementation of complex analysis, projects, and initiatives.
Highly developed quantitative skills as demonstrated with complex modeling; preference given to previous benefit/cost modeling experience.
Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and positive stakeholder interactions.
Experience advancing competitive procurements.
Experience in development of project business cases, benefit cost analysis, implementation, and action plans.
Experience in tracking portfolio level project plans with well-defined scope, budgets, schedule milestones and performance against key metrics and indicators.
Experience in achieving project results in high pressure and high-profile assignments is required.
Interest in sustainability and emergent utility technologies.
Desire to support advancement of New York's clean energy & climate goals.
