Position Purpose:

Seeking world-class talent to join the world's leading distributor of automotive and industrial replacement parts and value-added services. Specifically, this role will function as the Product Manager of a newly formed team to build next generation Shop Management software at GPC. Working with a highly talented team, you'll play a key role in bringing the Shop Management System from 0 to 1 and then in defining innovative solutions to win in the market.

The Product Manager defines a strategic vision and product roadmap to solve our customer's problems, and as a result, deliver business value through the production of quality products. Within your product, you will lead product definition and discovery which will include identifying dependencies with other products, conducting research, writing requirements, and collaborating with UX design and engineering partners. You can also expect to support business reviews, communicate the product vision, present across all levels of the organization, and contribute to improving product management practices.

This role will have a large scope and a high degree of ownership as you direct creation of products related to repair shop management software and lead teams in the definition, discovery, design, development, and delivery of end-to-end capabilities leveraging technology, operations, and process.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Strategic
  • Drive growth for the business by applying customer and domain expertise to provide thought leadership and translate vision into outcomes
  • Own and maintain a product roadmap driven by the highest impact customer needs while considering delivery cost
  • Think creatively and propose innovative solutions to customer problems
  • Define and communicate value propositions, OKRs, success metrics, and outcomes
  • Work with leadership to evaluate and prioritize opportunities
  • Collaborate with engineering and design to deliver a feasible, usable product
  • Maintain knowledge of competitive landscape and technology innovations


Execution
  • Represent both the customer and the business throughout the technology development process
  • Identify areas where research is needed to inform a solution or validate a hypothesis
  • Plan and conduct user research both independently and with support from UX
  • Own prioritization and maintain a product backlog
  • Document requirements (functional and non-functional) via Product Requirements Documents, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Groom and refine user storiesTrack KPIs to measure outcomes and adjust plans as needed


Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with all product development stakeholders (UX, Engineering, Security, others) to ensure successful delivery of products
  • Identify and manage depndencies
  • Represent domain during enterprise planning and drive cross-domain prioritization
  • Manage stakeholder expectations to ensure scoping, backlog, and delivery aligns with product strategy
  • Communicate and provide regular updates to the product roadmap
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications & Experiences:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, finance, computer science, or equivalent experience; MBA or another Master's degree are a plus
  • 8 years experience in product management
  • 8 years experience in agile development methodology where you owned prioritization and partnered with design and engineering from concept to launch
  • Experience in defining strategy and a roadmap and owning results
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Mastery of the product discovery process including user research and testing, data analysis, competitive research and analysis
  • Mastery of identifying goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value
  • Proficiency in technical and design knowledge to effectively partner with engineering and design
  • Proficiency in guiding more junior team members through Product Management fundamentals in a professional setting
  • Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 is a plus
  • Experience supporting and mentoring others is a plus
  • Experience in B2B SaaS is a plus
  • Experience with Shop Management Systems is a plus
