This Health Physics Planner position will oversee work planning and management for the Radiation Protection Department, including dose estimating and risk mitigation. The role involves analyzing radiation data, leading dose budget meetings, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing technical support for radiation exposure monitoring and control. This full-time position is located in Richland, WA.
Pay rate: $40.29 - $53.95

Responsibilities:
Perform work planning and management activities for the Radiation Protection Department, including dose estimating and creating dose reduction and risk mitigation strategies.
Analyze radiation protection performance data and station exposure data to assess program effectiveness.
Lead monthly dose budget meetings and review the department's monthly dose goals.
Review and evaluate department activities, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry regulations.
Identify, recommend, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Provide technical health physics support for operational and licensing tasks, including radiation exposure monitoring and radiological control.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a science related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor or RP professional staff position.
OR An associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Health Physics and a minimum of 7 years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor or RP professional staff position.
OR A high school diploma or GED and a minimum of 9 years of experience in radiation protection either as a Health Physics Technician, RP Supervisor or RP professional staff position.
A technical training certificate in Health Physics may be considered in place of required experience.
At least 1 year of radiation protection experience in a nuclear facility dealing with radiological issues similar to those in commercial nuclear power plants.
Ability to maintain rad worker qualifications.
3 years of radiation protection experience in a nuclear facility.
Experience working with diverse teams to achieve company or broader objectives.
Basic BWR systems training.
Ability to analyze and evaluate data.
Proficiency in word processing, reporting, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
Demonstrated planning skills.
Ability to meet business goals while maintaining quality, safety, budget, and schedule.
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Professional interaction skills at all levels.
Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.
Working knowledge of work planning/ALARA planning software.
Knowledge of radiological planning processes and procedures.
Familiarity with station functions and basic plant systems with radiological impact.
