As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accurate reporting, and assisting with strategic financial planning. You will be responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, financial reporting, and supporting internal controls. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and account reconciliations
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records and reports
Prepare and review detailed financial reports for management, including variance analysis, balance sheets, and income statements
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
Manage the year-end closing process, including coordination of audits and tax filings
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including tax filings, sales tax, and other local, state, and federal regulations
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff
Identify areas for process improvements and assist in the implementation of best practices
Support ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as needed by management
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
5+ years of accounting experience, including experience in financial reporting, audit preparation, and general accounting
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial regulations
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills
Experience with month-end and year-end close processes
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments
Leadership experience or a proven ability to mentor junior staff is preferred
