You have completed a BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on Thermodynamic and Heat Transfer principles. You may have also obtained an advanced degree in similar fields. You have worked in an engineering role for at least 7 years and are ready to join Framatome and help deliver clean, safe energy and advance nuclear technology.

Strong analytical skills and fluency in the use of Microsoft Excel and other engineering software
The ability to communicate clearly orally, in writing, and a presentation environment
Articulate the differences and impacts of the different steam generator tube degradation threats, fouling, broach blockage, corrosion
Training and experience in nuclear power plant systems, emphasizing primary and secondary system thermodynamics and heat transfer with a central focus on steam generator performance.
Build relationships and interact with customer counterparts to acquire historical plant-specific operating data (e.g., thermal power, steam pressure, tube deposit accumulation) and understand plant-specific system characteristics and compile finding in a database.
Evaluate and trend steam generator heat transfer fouling factor, steam pressure, secondary side flow blockage and Wide Range Water Levels (WRWLs).
Communicate evaluation results and recommendations to Framatome and customer stakeholders through reports and on-site presentations.
Develop proactive and/or corrective maintenance recommendations to help customers manage steam generator performance.

As a Principal Steam Generator Performance Engineer in Lynchburg, VA, you will be part of the proven team in the Installed Base Business Unit. You will be an integral part complementing the proven Chemical Application teams in the Chemistry and BOP Services Business Line in the NDE Solutions Business Unit. Your work will include to establish and develop relationships with utility SG Program Managers and others in the nuclear industry to help provide advice and consultation utilizing their SG and plant performance parameters. Your analysis and databasing will assist in defining and recommending the services to perform to achieve optimal performance and revenue generation for the utilities. This position requires occasional travel.

Framatome's Installed Base (IB) Business Unit is responsible for all types of services and maintenance activities for commercial nuclear operating plants. The IB NDE Solutions Business Group (IBN-A) manages specialty NDE inspections, steam generator services, chemistry & chemical application services, and Balance of Plant (BOP) repair services and sales activity for primarily the US nuclear market.
The range of base salary for the position is between $110,000 - $149,000, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
