This position may be required to perform a variety of duties including, but not limited to, operation of wastewater analysis laboratory, operation and maintenance of wastewater collection system, operation and maintenance of wastewater pre-treatment system, operation and maintenance of wastewater full treatment system, or operation and maintenance of any other type of water or wastewater treatment system.
Activities may include, but are not limited to:
Collecting samples for analysis in accordance with EPA, state and/or health departments regulations.
Performing a variety of chemical analysis (both in and out of a laboratory setting).
Making system adjustments based on interpretation of results from chemical analysis.
Making educated decisions on maintaining regulatory compliance.
Performing mathematical calculations utilizing basic algebraic formulas and a calculator.
Completing computerized reports.
Compiling information and correctly completing monthly reports as required by permits, state authority, EPA or corporate management.
Utilization of basic organizational skills.
Basic mechanical skills.
Basic electrical wiring skills.
Proper communication of current operational status to upper management.
Maintaining operations logs
Performing minor to major maintenance on equipment.
Operation of a spotter tuck and/or a forklift.
Groundskeeping, painting, general housekeeping.
Other duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Experience: 1 + years of Wastewater experience preferred.
ComputerSkills: Basic computer skills with knowledge in Word and Excel
CommunicationSkills: Good interpersonal and communication skills are critical.
Certifications: Must successfully complete a stormwater training program selected by site management within thirty days and must also successfully complete "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume I" and "Industrial Waste Treatment, Volume II" correspondence courses through California State University Sacramento within twelve months and must obtain lowest grade certification program within twelve months or in accordance with State regulations.
Other Requirements: Must have a valid driver's license and will be required to obtain higher levels of certification and training up to Level A at this facility; must meet and maintain the minimum-qualification levels as required by state regulations.
Physical Requirements: Physical lifting of heavy objects (50-75 pounds), climbing and/or descending stairs or ladders, working in unsanitary conditions, and working with hazardous chemicals.

Travel: 1 to 2 trips per year
