Position Overview:
The purpose of this position is to manage the administration of company engineering and operations standards that comply with regulatory requirements and are consistent with Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEP). The position reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering and Asset Integrity. The candidate will engage with Site leadership team, department managers, and engineering personnel to drive and improve engineering and operations standards for the Company. The candidate will work with Operations and the Corporate Discipline Engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure operations and engineering standards are maintained and updated to include latest industry best practices.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership for implementation and accountability in the application of standards on new and in-service assets.
Manage the approval and review process for standards.
Manage and facilitate assurance on the use of standards.
Coordinate with SMEs for creation, revisions, and reaffirmations of standards.
Coordinate with SMEs on deviations/ exceptions to mandatory requirements in the standards.
Ensure consistency with regards to Standards' content, format, and language.
Manage annual budget, company subscription contract, and the relationship with standards providers (e.g. Equity Engineering, PIP, IHS).
Manage update, modification, and knowledge sharing processes with the standards provider to ensure RAGAGEP.
Facilitate access and training on engineering standards website and work processes.
Facilitate access and training to third party standards users such as EPC contractors.
Manage unique Technical Excellence projects that could include development/ updating of work processes, engineering software tools implementation, new technology trials, etc.
Facilitate lessons learned amongst SMEs driving the contents of the standards to RAGAGEP.
Collaborate with Motiva's parent company Saudi Aramco, sharing lessons learned and best practices for standards and technical subjects.

Experience and Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science in any Engineering Discipline.
5+ years of experience in engineering or plant operations support in Refining/Chemicals industry.
Experience with use and application of Engineering Standards and Practices.
Demonstrated self-starter with high attention to detail and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, with minimum supervision, delivering high-quality work.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and spoken.
General Knowledge of industry codes and standards
Preferred Education and Experience:
Greater than 7 years of experience in owner's engineering or plant operations support in Refining/Chemicals industry.
Experience with development of engineering and/or operations standards.
Active participation in industry codes and standards committees such as ASME, API, NFPA, etc.
Experience in on-site support to Refinery or Chemicals operations.
Knowledge of Operations work processes
Strong Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities
Experience as a discipline engineer (e.g. Fixed Equipment, Pressure Integrity, Piping, Electrical, Rotating Equipment, Instrumentation, Control Systems, Civil/Structural, etc.)
