American Buildings Company is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Technician. The successful candidate will perform a wide variety of duties in the installation, maintenance and repair of plant machinery and equipment, involving electrical, plumbing, mechanical and related trades activities. The successful candidate must be able to perform the following:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Troubleshoot and repair machinery and industrial equipment
Direct work of assigned helpers
Work from prints, drawings, sketches, written and/or verbal instructions to perform duties
Receive and complete work orders
Notify leadership when repairs require
Install equipment, run wires, establish distribution boxes, level equipment after assembling
Become familiar with equipment installed under contractual services
Perform facility maintenance tasks to include plumbing, wiring etc.
Perform preventive maintenance on a variety of industrial equipment to include but not limited to presses, punches, CNC machinery, mobile equipment to include forklifts, yard trucks and other equipment as needed
Use a variety of tools and test equipment to perform troubleshooting/repair and daily work.
Work with various material handling devices to transport materials to and from work locations

Excellent attendance & safety records, no write-ups in the past year and/or as determined by hiring manager
Shown mechanical ability and must have the mechanical knowledge to service onsite machinery & equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
Multi-craft experience
Journeyman electrician or industrial electricity certification
Hydraulics experience
At least 1-year prior experience in industrial maintenance or similar position
