Holy Cross is looking to hire a dynamic Director to lead the Performance Improvement Department. In accord with the mission and core values of Trinity Health and Holy Cross Health, organizes and directs the Maryland Region's internal clinical, and operational improvement practice.
Position Overview:
The director is guided by the hospital's strategic, budget and operating plans, works to improve performance and promotes the efficient and effective use of human and material resources. Primarily achieves success through promotion of effective design, measurement and analysis of key processes and outcomes.
Establishes and maintains effective relationships with other members of Executive Administration Team, with leaders of the Medical Staffs and with members of the Management Team and their staff. Maintains contact with appropriate staff at Trinity Health, with leaders in the performance improvement field and with experts in analysis and process design.

Key Responsibilities:
Provides for the training of and ensures the effective utilization of team members. The director works closely with the CMO, CQO, CNO and the Senior Leadership team at both hospitals and the network
Certification in the utilization of process analysis and improvement approaches (e.g. Six Sigma or comparable methodology) is strongly preferred.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Masters Degree or equivalent in a clinical or administrative healthcare discipline.
Thorough knowledge and familiarity with the healthcare system, extensive background in healthcare operations with specific involvement in quality, patient safety activities, clinical practice, data analysis, data systems, and medical peer review acquired through five (5) years of healthcare experience, including at least two (2) years of management experience in a healthcare organization, preferably hospital based.
Oversees all aspects of the quality program, including quality measurement, external reporting, quality improvement, and high reliability.
Extensive knowledge of all aspects of hospital clinical operations, as relate to quality and patient safety as well as familiarity with infection control, risk management, and regulatory agencies and certification processes, quality- based reimbursement programs and medical peer review.
Prior experience in designing and conducting analysis and guiding the implementation of process improvement initiatives required.
Thorough knowledge of current trends and best practices in performance improvement concepts, applications and methods. Evidence of ability to network with other practitioners in this field.
Evidence of successful use of process improvement methodologies and techniques to improve performance.
Demonstrated leadership ability and a record of effective, team-oriented relationships with hospital and medical staff at all levels and a track record of success in facilitating the work of teams and committees.
Demonstrated ability to anticipate issues and develop strategies to address those issues.
Demonstrated success in working with administrative, logistical and clinical data systems and applicable statistical tools/software.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to act in an assertive, yet diplomatic, manner.
Pay Range: $54.94-$82.40
Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
