ABOUT THE JOB:
Implement and support Safety, Production and Environmental initiatives. Train and implement solutions to improve safety and environment activities. Must embrace and support core values Accountability, Commitment and Teamwork
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning health and safety program and protocols.
Train worksite on proper processes and procedures regarding Safety and Environmental.
Implement Safety best practices and train affected personnel in their application.
Teaching supervisors, managers and other leaders in the company about health and safety standards
Ensuring compliance with OSHA, federal and state regulations.
Handling risk assessments to gather information on safety issues.
Verifying that employees consistently follow safety protocols
Analyzing health and safety data.
Reviewing and recommending changes to regular activities.
Review LOTO and keep up to date
Conduct bi-weekly safety meetings with the team
Provide direction with the production team if any unsafe acts or conditions are observed.
Work with other EHS personnel across the Northwest Pipe organization
Assist with the SPCC/SWPPP by conducting audits, taking samples and providing information
Stop work when necessary
Other duties as assigned.

Understanding of OSHA guidelines and other state and local safety regulations
Familiarity with the tools, machines and equipment used in the workplace

Ability to teach others the established safety standards.
Excellent communications, relationship-building, and facilitation skills.
Strong computer skills necessary. Advanced MS office skills and statistical software packages (Minitab etc.).
Ability to work well as a team and interact with different groups of people
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Industrial Safety or a technical discipline is required.
Minimum 3 years Safety Coordinator or similar role that helps create and enforce safety standards.
Experience delivering OSHA compliant Safety programs in a manufacturing environment.
