JOB DESCRIPTION: STUDENT SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR
Position Summary: The Student Services Administrator organizes and implements all major aspects of the suite of services offered to students enrolled at Point Blank Music School. As Student Services Administrator, they drive the school's processes for student advisement, academic probation, and overall retention by monitoring each online student's progress toward program completion. They provide academic advisement sessions, career guidance, topical workshops, and other various services that encourage and enhance online student development and progress during their Point Blank program. The Student Services Administrator helps Point Blank to achieve its mission by analyzing student data to produce relevant reports, ensuring the school achieves its desired rate of student retention, and providing recommendations around the school's policies and strategic plans for student services.
Position Type: Full time, 40 hours per week
Reports to: Institutional Director (direct report), Chief Academic Officer (indirect report)
Specific Duties and Responsibilities: • Manage and administrate the Point Blank student experience from matriculation to graduation • Answer email and phone inquiries from current students promptly and effectively • Develop and maintain complete and highly accurate student records, administrative forms, and reports • Track student progress and program completions • Confer with students during quarterly student advisement sessions • Collect data and file quarterly academic advisement reports • Participate in scheduling quarterly student events • Drive student retention processes by maintaining relationships with individual students to ensure continuous active enrollment, academic progress, and program completions • Deliver advisement sessions, career guidance, topical workshops, and other student events • Assisting with special events - eg. Open Houses & Masterclasses • Understand and adhere to all Point Blank Music School policies and state and federal regulations with respect to student record keeping • Collaborate with key administrative staff and faculty members to ensure student needs are being met in order to achieve the objectives, goals, and mission of Point Blank Music School • Provide technical assistance to instructors and students in studios and classrooms • Classroom tidiness and replenishment • Maintaining overall security of school facilities during assigned night and/or weekend class periods
Minimum Qualifications: • Two (2) years of relevant practical work experience
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with diverse populations
• Strong administrative and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
Highly proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat
• Knowledge of Ableton Live, Native Instruments Komplete, and Pioneer DJ equipment • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment • Friendly, approachable demeanor and confident attitude
Preferred Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in education, music, or related field • Three (3) years of practical work experience in student services, advisement, registrar, or administration of a postsecondary institution • Demonstrable skill in copywriting and formal written communication • Demonstrable organizational and analytical prowess
General Requirements: • At least 18 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to pass a background check • Occasionally available to work flexible hours including days, nights, and weekends as needed in order to participate in student events
Compensation:
Starting pay of $17.50 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications
Quarterly bonus
