About Nosis Bio

Nosis Bio is a well-funded biotech startup exclusively focused on cell-specific delivery of RNA therapeutics. We are an all-scientist team of biologists, chemists, and machine learning experts that believe targeted extrahepatic delivery is the only thing preventing RNA therapies from becoming the standard-of-care for most chronic diseases. We combine deep expertise in receptor biology, generative AI, and high throughput in vivo data generation to exponentially accelerate the development of RNA therapeutics for new tissues. We are addressing a major unmet need across the industry and actively partner with pharmaceutical companies, research institutions, and biotech.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of scientists and research associates to expand the Nosis wet lab workflow for protein design, protein screening, and protein development
  • Apply advanced protein engineering methods, including screening, sequence-, structure-, and AI/ML- based, to drive the invention of novel biologic therapeutics
  • Serve as a project co-lead on pipeline projects to advance biologics candidates through discovery and development
  • Serve as a scientific mentor and resource for scientific staff across the company's discovery network
  • Lead direct reports to drive their pipeline impact and personal growth and development
  • Foster a high-performance culture of collaboration, engagement, self-accountability and excellence
  • Effective partner across multidisciplinary interfaces to achieve organizational objectives

  • Expert-level competency in advanced protein/peptide engineering methods in the design of biotherapeutics
  • Deep scientific knowledge across workflows and domains integral to the discovery of protein/peptide therapeutics, including protein displays, peptide, protein and/or antibody discovery, protein expression/purification, protein characterization and developability assessment
  • Demonstrated track record of utilizing protein engineering methods, including structure- and AI/ML- based to advance biotherapeutics through discovery and into the clinic
  • Experience mentoring and developing colleagues through formal and informal means.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Has established of a strong external reputation through high-impact publications, presentations, and scientific community engagement

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience in protein therapeutics beyond traditional mAbs, including linear and cyclic peptides and peptide/protein chimeras
  • Hands-on experience in wet lab execution of one or more of the following: protein display, expression, purification, and/or characterization (developability, biophysics, functional assessment, assay development/execution, structure determination)
  • Experience with molecular and microbiology techniques underlying yeast display work
  • Fundamental understanding of proteins, antibodies, and structure-function relationships required. Familiarity with protein structure analysis (Pymol, Chimera, MOE).
  • DNA and RNA purification, cloning, PCR, Sanger sequencing, NGS library preparation
  • Flow cytometry and FACS
  • Familiarity with protein-protein interaction techniques and kinetics (FP, BLI, SPR, on-cell binding)
  • Bioinformatics or data science experience is desirable (bash, Python, or R)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, FlowJo, Prism, DNA cloning software
