Job Summary
The Purchasing Specialist will lead, direct, and manage all procurement activities for the identified category to support Cohere Beauty's demand. They are responsible for the execution of strategic sourcing strategies to procure high-quality materials at the best cost while fostering strong supplier partnerships. They will collaborate with all areas of the company to ensure on-time delivery of materials that meet customer and production requirements. They play a critical role in continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives to exceed company goals.
This is what you will do:
Responsible for the procurement of assigned categories to support our company sales and production goals from initial project development through invoicing.
Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with established policies and procedures
Responsible for maintaining optimum inventory levels to meet company fill rate and inventory turnover objectives
Track delivery of existing orders and work with suppliers to resolve any issues
Ensure satisfactory quality compliance of suppliers regarding contractually specified performance metrics and mitigate any issues with performance that may arise.
Assist in sourcing items using a total cost ownership approach while conducting competitive RFQs and awarding business to strategic supplier partners.
Investigate, resolve, and approve discrepant invoices and receiving issues.
Review and analyze item ordering parameters to optimize inventory
Develop strong partnerships with suppliers to help ensure open communication and continuity of supply.
Proactively identify supply chain issues, and problem suppliers/materials and communicate resolution effectively with cross-functional team members to align to S&OP strategy.
Consistently monitor the market for pricing trends, and future supply constraints and gain overall category knowledge to keep leadership and peers informed on market conditions.
Partner with internal cross-functional departments to collaborate and foster communication between teams including sales, R&D, Finance, etc.
React quickly to resolve and escalate any supply chain issues that may impact production.
Some travel is required for supplier visits and tradeshows.
Ability to perform work onsite.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This is what you will need:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or comparable experience
Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain experience required.
Strong negotiation and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work with a sense of urgency and deliver results under pressure; meet assigned deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to communicate/collaborate clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization and externally.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and ERP systems.
Ability to read, write, and speak English competently.
Ability to work on-site.
Ability to maintain regular, reliable, and predictable attendance.
Knowledge and understanding of the Purchasing Cycle (preferred).
Strong organization and time management skills (preferred).
Adaptability - open to and actively solicit new ideas and opinions (preferred).
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (preferred).
