Job summary
We're Looking for a Senior Operations and Maintenance Technician (Level 3) eager to take an active role in supporting our projects. As a O&M Technician, you will be responsible for leading complex system troubleshooting, major repairs, and optimizing renewable energy systems. This role also involves team leadership, mentoring, and working closely with engineers and project managers to ensure optimal system performance.
Knowledge: You are a self starter, responsible for all trouble shooting, , safety and quality standards. Your field experience in leading troubleshooting and repair of Solar and Energy Storage systems will be an asset to the team as you guide junior members of the team, work with all project stake holders and take exclusive responsibility for the safe execution of any commissioning or maintenance project.
Job Complexity: Comprehensive System Inspections: Lead and conduct thorough inspections of electrical and mechanical components across the entire renewable system, including trackers,inverters, high-voltage equipment, transformers, and power distribution components. • High-Level Testing, Programming, & Analysis: Perform complex testing, including load testing, relay programming, relay testing, and commissioning of new systems. Use specialized tools (e.g., relay test set, VLF) to test and if needed diagnose deep system issues. • Major Repairs & System Upgrades: Perform major system repairs, such as inverter replacements, advanced troubleshooting, or other PV component replacement. Implement system upgrades to improve performance. • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and train Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, ensuring work is completed efficiently and according to safety and quality standards. • Client & Project Coordination: Interface with project managers and superintendent to report on system performance, recommend improvements, and ensure projects meet operational goals. Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and system optimization strategies. • Safety Oversight: Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and company protocols, • including overseeing Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and developing site safety plans.
Supervision: You are a self starter and will be expected to show diligence and follow through with all tasks. You understand that your communication with stakeholders and your diligent follow through is directly impacting the project completion milestones. You will be responsible for the execution of your tasks for successful completion of an O&M or commissioning task as well as the follow through supporting other field team members. You will report directly to the O&M Manager.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in electrical technology, renewable energy, or a related ?eld is preferred. Extensive ?eld experience with advanced technical certi?cations (e.g., NETA, NICET, etc).
Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience working with electrical and mechanical systems in the renewable energy ?eld.
Skills: Deep understanding of electrical and mechanical systems, including inverters, transformers, and high-voltage equipment. Expertise in system design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, with excellent communication and documentation skills.
Physical Requirements: Able to work in challenging conditions, including heights, con?ned spaces, and adverse weather, while following strict safety protocols.
Driving Record: A valid state-issued driver's license and a satisfactory driving record are required.
Travel: This role requires full time travel to project sites daily.
