What You'll Do
This exciting opportunity will focus on leading the North American Strategic Sourcing organization in the execution of supply chain strategies in the lithium-ion business. Partner with the EVP of North America Operations and Supply Chain to establish a regional focused strategic sourcing team. Develops sourcing standards aligned to North American sourcing strategy. Oversees all aspects of supplier selections, negotiations, and contract administration.
Responsibilities (Including other duties as assigned)
Developing the North American Strategic Sourcing Strategy and team structure
Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for electronics, plastics and other packaging materials, aligned with the organization's overall procurement and business objectives
Partner with the Asian sourcing teams to identify optimal global sourcing needs where localization is not beneficial
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new opportunities, potential risks, and emerging trends within the Steel industry
Supplier Management: Lead supplier identification, evaluation, selection, and relationship management activities
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key suppliers to ensure the highest quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery of steel raw materials, components and products
Negotiation and Contract Management: Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers
Cost Optimization: Implement cost reduction initiatives and continuously monitor market dynamics to capitalize on cost-saving opportunities within categories in scope without compromising quality
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Product Development, and Operations, to understand their requirements and ensure alignment between procurement and business objectives
Supplier Performance Management: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for suppliers, evaluate their performance regularly, and work collaboratively to address any performance issues
Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing team of procurement professionals to support the Steel category
Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members
What You Will Need
We are looking for someone to setup, manage and provide strategic leadership for our North American Strategic Sourcing organization
5+ years of experience leading a supply chain or engineering team and familiarity with industrial operations
Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, business, or engineering
MBA is a plus
Market knowledge in electronics, plastics and packaging
Negotiation skills & strategic mindset
Operations acumen
Project management skills
Demonstrated success in negotiating and managing supplier contracts to achieve cost savings and enhance supplier performance
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and building collaborative relationships
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
English communication (written and verbal)
Presentation skills, able to influence stakeholders at all levels
Ability to travel in North America and internationally, up to 40%
