Typical Duties
Purchasing: Responsible for acquiring materials, components, parts, supplies, equipment, and services in line with established policies to meet company requirements and maintain inventory levels.
Vendor Management: Identifies, evaluates, approves, and qualifies vendors. Obtains quotations, examines bids, and makes awards based on company standards and specifications.
Contract Negotiation: Negotiates terms for major purchases within authority limits, ensuring supply, quality, and cost expectations are met according to company standards.
Cost Analysis: Analyzes external price trends and commodity costs, evaluates new product offerings, and assesses purchasing trends to secure discounts and recommend cost-saving proposals.
Collaboration: Works with product management, development, manufacturing, and engineering teams to maintain inventory levels and resolve discrepancies related to invoicing and shipments.

Contract Orders: Develops specifications for new contracts and assists with new vendor setup in procurement systems, ensuring systems are updated.
Record Maintenance: Maintains records of purchases, payments, contract expiration dates, invoices, purchase orders, and other documentation. Tracks shipments and verifies quantities received.
Commodity Management: Maintains resources for assigned commodities, expedites orders, and contacts vendors for delivery scheduling. Manages pricing revisions, order cancellations, and invoice discrepancies.
Inventory Records: Ensures accurate purchase and inventory records, processes disputed purchases, and ensures fairness to suppliers.
