Description: My client is currently seeking a Product Designer! This is a long-term contract and will be HYBRID, 3 days onsite. If this sounds like you, then please apply!

Principal Duties and Responsibilities




General





  • Collaborate Creatively: Work with cross-functional teams using agile methods to define user stories and UX deliverables.


  • Influence with Insight: Shape outcomes and product owner decisions based on UX best practices, design principles, and research.


  • Innovate Efficiently: Partner with developers to implement the most effective, expedient, and efficient solutions.


  • Drive Feedback: Collect, analyze, present, and action feedback, managing changes to deliverables.


  • Engage Stakeholders: Present your work in a clear and compelling manner to stakeholders.


  • Stay Transparent: Provide timely status updates on all products, including work left to do, issues, and risks.


  • Communicate Effectively: Ensure smooth collaboration with all team members to get work done.



Design





  • Craft Stunning Visuals: Design the visual style, interface, and interaction flow of applications and experiences.


  • Adhere to Excellence: Contribute to and follow the patterns of our design system.


  • Visualize Ideas: Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes.



Information Architecture





  • Champion the User: Advocate for the user and collaborate with business owners to develop features and flows that align with user needs.


  • Translate and Implement: Gather and translate rules and assets into UX systems, programs, and enterprise solutions.


  • Document Thoroughly: Prepare, manage, update, and distribute UX documentation, including navigational flows, wireframes, mock-ups, use cases, task flows, prototypes, content, and system errors.



UX Research





  • Strategize Research: Create research strategies based on desired outcomes and develop usability test plans, scripts, and scenarios for prototypes.


  • Test and Iterate: Regularly formulate and test hypotheses during design iterations.


  • Evaluate Designs: Use research techniques (heuristic reviews, user interviews, remote unmoderated and in-person testing) to determine ease-of-use and comprehension of designs and ideas.


  • Conduct Studies: Design, recruit/schedule, and moderate usability studies and user interviews.



Qualifications




Required





  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Library Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience or training.


  • Experience: 3+ years as a UX practitioner with a background in user experience design, interaction design, or similar.


  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Adobe CC, etc.).


  • Collaborative Experience: Experience working closely with developers from inception through implementation in an agile environment.


  • Analytical Skills: Advanced analytical skills for dealing with complex data problems and implementing sustainable solutions.


  • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines, product lines, roles, geographical, and time zone boundaries.


  • Research Proficiency: Knowledge and proficiency using remote unmoderated testing tools and moderated testing devices and platforms.


  • Research Methods: In-depth understanding of both qualitative and quantitative research methods.


  • Design Principles: Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and a solid grasp of trends in web and app design.


  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to label, classify, and intelligently build flows and wireframes for complex computer applications.


  • Iterative Design: Experience rapidly iterating designs to conduct user testing and deliver to development teams.


  • Responsive Design: Experience in responsive, adaptive, and accessible designs.


  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and communicate effectively with non-technical users.



Preferred





  • Advanced Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Computer Science, Visual Design, Library Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience or training.


  • Extensive Experience: 5+ years as a UX practitioner with a background in user experience design, interaction design, or similar.
