What are we looking for?

The Business Assurance group of Intertek provides a full range of business process audit and support services, including management systems certification, sustainability and responsible sourcing audits, risk management, and training. Our range of bespoke auditing, performance benchmarking and supply chain solutions provide insight into every aspect of operations, allowing clients to make informed decisions about their business while ensuring their workforce competencies are current and relevant.

Auditors needed for: Medical Devices, EMS/OHS/QMS, ISO 9001, IATF Automotive, AS9100 Aerospace, Food & CSR

Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.

These will be a travel-based position, with extensive travel to client sites required. Candidate must be comfortable travelling 3 to 5 nights per week. This is a remote position; however, applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States.

What you'll do:


  • Manage all phases of assessments/audits and recommendation for registration from time audit is assigned through completion of the audit activity
  • Plan and schedule assessments/audits, and coordinate with team member(s)
  • Represent the assessment team and the company
  • Total evaluation of client sites, reporting non-compliance to Certification Authority
  • Review the quality documentation, assess the system, conduct audits in order to evaluate the client's Quality Management system through initial, surveillance, recertification and special surveillance audits, and recommend whether Certification be granted, denied, suspended, or withdrawn
  • Hold opening and closing meetings with and provide progress updates to clients on Pre-Audit, Stage I, Stage II, Annual Audits, Special Surveillance visits, Triennial Re-assessments, Change of Scope, Extension of Scope, Upgrades Audits, Transfer Audits, and results of team findings
  • Explain to the client non-compliance and other findings
  • Produce reports and supporting documentation to be submitted in our database on each audit, documenting all non-compliances and following guidance reports and Intertek procedures and requirements within required KPI's
  • Review and approve client submitted corrective actions for nonconformities from the audit
  • Respond to technical requests for revisions and emails within 48 hours
  • Help with lower tier auditor training and assist sales force on client visits
  • Conduct assigned audits in accordance with contracted client agreements and submit required reports in a timely manner

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or GED;
  • 4 years of full-time appropriate practical experience
  • A minimum of 2+ years in a quality management systems environment (auditing, CAPA, complaints, management review)
  • Experience in manufacturing or service industries related to Chemicals, Plastics, Rubber, Metals, Electrical, Transportation, Construction, Aerospace, Food or Medical
  • Valid driver's license and reliable driving record (required)
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively electronically and both orally and in writing in the agreed language of the assessment/audit assignments
  • Ability to work well in an environment and react effectively in stressful situations
  • Sound judgment and analytical skills
  • Ability to understand complex operations in broad perspective
  • Ability to obtain and assess factual information fairly
  • Must have strong leadership abilities
  • Ability to exercise effective time management in completion of assignments.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • 4 year college/university degree in a science or technical field (biology or microbiology; chemistry or biochemistry; computer and software technology; electrical, electronic, mechanical or bioengineering; human physiology; medicine; pharmacy; physics or biophysics) or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience
  • Lead Auditor Training with (ISO19011 OR ISO13485) Certification
  • Related 3rd party auditing industry management systems experience.

  • Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
  • Stand, for sustained periods of time.
  • Walk, moving on foot to accomplish tasks and to move from one work location to another.
  • Communicate well, thru spoken word, conveying detailed accurate information & instructions to others.
  • Hear well, perceiving sounds with or without correction, including the ability to receive information thru oral communications.
  • Exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amounts of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
  • Have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing & analyzing data, viewing a computer monitor, reading, report writing, visual inspection, and use of measurement devises.
