JOB SUMMARY

The Construction Business Executive will have a hands-on role in nearly every aspect of construction management; including planning, organizing, and directing all actions to achieve or exceed profitability targets, operational efficiencies, and company objectives. The Construction Business Executive is responsible for managing the Arizona office, leading the development and management of achievable project budgets, meet or exceed project budget profitability, oversee all construction, pre-construction, and develop client relations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Effectively manage the day-to-day construction company operations. This includes building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, supplies, and other key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with partners and executive team to develop and execute the company's strategic plan, focusing on growth and profitability.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs in construction operations.
  • Support business development efforts by participating client meetings, presentations, and negotiations as needed.
  • Supervise and maintain an organized and efficient safety program internally and with our third-party safety consultant on all projects and stay in local and government compliance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, superintendents, and other construction professionals.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective action needed to address any issues or delays.
  • Conduct regular site visits to ensure compliance with company standards and client expectations.
  • Work with estimating department to ensure there are complete proposals and scopes of work getting handed to the client.
  • Address and resolve any client concerns or issues on all projects.
  • Stay in constant communication with partners at the home office.

  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients, peers, and associates throughout the company and affiliates.
  • Proven track record for successfully managing all facets of preconstruction, construction, and business development.
  • Coach and develop successful teams.
  • Extensive industry knowledge and demonstrated technical acumen.
  • Expertise in prioritizing between competing issues, project needs, business needs, organization issues, and client relations while making judgements using sound insight and wisdom.
  • Expertise in all aspects of construction activities including proposals, negotiating, bidding, estimating, contracting, scheduling, job-costing, construction management, and problem solving and OSHA requirements.
  • Flexible availability and adaptability, with the dedication to ensure successful completion of a project.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EDUCATION
  • Minimum 12 - 15 years of commercial construction industry experience.
  • Minimum 10 years in an executive, senior leadership role.
  • 8 - 10 years of Project Management involvement.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple departments and divisions at a time.
  • Ability to manage and maintain client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, or similar field preferred.
  • Skilled in AIA Construction Contract administration preferred.
  • Skilled in Procore Construction Management software or similar software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, project management, and project scheduling.
  • Knowledge of industry legal rules and guidelines.
  • Knowledge and experience in construction accounting and financial processes.
  • Promote and foster team leadership both locally in Arizona and with Illinois home office management.
