The YWCA Minneapolis is looking for a Director of Individual Giving to serve as a key member of our Organizational Advancement team.
The Director of Individual Giving will work closely with the Chief Development Officer and fundraising staff to support and drive the YWCA Minneapolis' fundraising strategy. As the Director of Individual Giving, you will work to establish and strengthen relationships with prospects, donors and volunteers in support of YWCA Minneapolis' overall mission to eliminate racism, empower women and girls, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. This position will report to the Chief Development Officer.
Responsibilities
Develops and implement a marketing and communications plan for annual, mid-level and major gifts.
Partner with Marketing and Communications to develop planned giving outreach.
Actively identify and evaluate prospective donors.
Prepare proposals, solicitation letters and other development-related communications.
Oversee and participate in cultivation and outreach to major gifts donor prospects.
Schedule regular meetings with donors and prospective donors.
Oversee and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Annual Fund Officer, Mid-Level Gift Officer, Major Gift Offer and Database/Prospect Research Manager.
Works with staff, Board of Directors and Volunteers to identify and pursue corporate gifts.
Manage a donor portfolio and complete planned actions for each individual or company in their portfolio.
Supports and exhibits strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the YWCA Minneapolis.
Qualifications
BA or equivalent work experience in related field of study.
5+ years' experience in fundraising.
Ability to develop, manage and maintain successful relationships.
Ability to be a champion and ambassador for the YWCA Minneapolis.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to successfully address and resolve conflict.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, board of directors, staff, volunteers and community groups.
Ability to work effectively with a variety of cultures, styles, backgrounds and perspectives.
Proficient with Microsoft Office programs. Prior experience with Raiser's Edge is a plus.
