The Indiana Association of School Business Officials is devoted to the school business management profession. IASBO provides our members with a comprehensive range of professional development activities, services, and advocacy through innovative, timely, and relevant programming.
Position Overview
The Administrative Coordinator provides critical support to multiple functions of the association, including fiscal and accounting procedures, event planning, professional development, and member services. The selected candidate will join a collaborative, hard-working team that is driven by a shared passion for providing valuable resources to school business professionals for the benefit of K-12 students across the state of Indiana. IASBO's team consists of an Executive Director, an active Board of Directors, a Director of Member Services, a Professional Development Coordinator, and a Manager of Fiscal and External Affairs. Our small team works well together, supporting one another to achieve the organization's mission. The Administrative Coordinator will have an important role on this team providing administrative support and collaborating closely with team members.
Responsibilities
Assist with all financial operations of the association, including deposits, invoices, data entry, and reporting
Support all aspects of the IASBO professional development program, including event registrations, assigning and tracking professional development credit, analyzing evaluation data, and assisting members with questions
Support the logistical tasks needed for successful in-person and virtual events, such as venue coordination, housing, catering, AV needs, signage, and event security. Events include professional development seminars/day conferences (with and without an exhibit hall), fundraisers, the IASBO Leadership Academy, board meetings, and the IASBO Annual Conference
Participate fully in the planning and execution of the IASBO Annual Conference in conjunction with IASBO staff members, including site organization, registration, the exhibit hall, housing, catering, and preparation for professional development sessions
Assist with all tasks related to association membership, such as processing new and renewed memberships, communicating with sponsors, and maintaining membership directories
Assist with the process of keeping the association website updated
Support the human resources functions of the association, including payroll, benefits, and audit support
Utilize unique abilities, strengths, and interests to collaboratively and continuously improve the association for the benefit of schools
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum of one year of experience in the association or meetings and events industry preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Strong collaboration, communication, active listening, and problem-solving skills
Ability to think critically quickly learn new skills as needed
Excellent communication skills in working with volunteers, members, guests, vendors, and co-workers in-person and via phone and email
Exhibit confidentiality, flexibility, accountability, and professionalism
Ability to travel within the state
