Director Ecommerce and Digital Marketing

ABOUT US

ELLIS BROOKLYN is a clean and eco, award-winning fragrance line carried at Sephora, Ulta, Credo, and international retailers like Mecca and Liberty London. We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Director of Ecommerce and Digital Marketing for our fast-growing beauty company! This role will provide leadership and execution of across our ecommerce channels (website, Amazon and TikTok shop). This role is accountable for driving sales and profitability through digital marketing, merchandising, data and analytics, user experience, and site operations. This is a cross functional role working with internal creative and marketing teams as well as managing external agencies, while executing day-to-day online operations of the e-commerce platforms.

Please note this position is in-office 4 days a week with Fridays remote.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Ecommerce Sales Strategy, Execution, P&L Management:

Lead development and execution of ecommerce strategies, digital retail execution and business planning to drive sales and profit. Develop key product and brand moments and ensure all projects support the company strategy.

Build, manage, and refine online assortment, price and merchandising presentation. Maintain appropriate sell through and merchandising to support various business models. Responsible for developing and managing customer acquisition and retention strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations: Manage daily operations of the e-commerce sites, including merchandising, promotions, and inventory management, ensuring functionality and optimized user experience.
  • Strategy: Lead the team in translating the brand's seasonal vision into a compelling online product assortment, promotions, and content strategy.
  • Performance: Monitor and analyze KPI's and implement strategies to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Manage e-commerce sales platforms and multi-channel marketplaces, including Amazon, TikTok and Meta Shop, ensuring optimal performance and growth.
  • Coordinate & administer email and SMS journeys, promotions and flows, driving engagement and conversions.
  • Collaboration: Work cross functionally with marketing, sales, and creative teams to align strategies with business goals.
  • Manage third party digital ad spend agency, managing external relationships and ensuring effective execution of digital initiatives.

What We're Looking For
• Ability to exert personal influence, build relationships, and collaborate effectively with functional teams and other key internal / external stakeholders
• Strong leader that can inspire and motivate high performing teams to deliver strong results.
• Proven track record in running a successful DTC ecommerce business with significant year over year growth.
• Must have strong skills in strategy and planning, budget and P&L management merchandising and marketing, and agency management.
• Be comfortable in ambiguity/startup/lean ways of working in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
• Key strength in data-driven analytics.
• Beauty industry experience highly preferred.

Qualifications & Skills
  • 6+ years of experience leading e-commerce operations, with a background in managing rapid growth in a DTC business.
  • Well versed in strategy, P&L management, merchandising, and digital marketing.
  • Experience with Shopify as well as key supporting technology and marketplace platforms like Klaviyo and SMS marketing software
  • Amazon marketplace experience
  • Tiktok Shop experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex digital concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and executes with a sense of ownership.
  • Highly collaborative and eager to support the growth and rising of others.
  • Self-aware, enthusiastic and passionate.

  • Salary range $100,000-$155,000 with the potential for equity for the right candidate. Note, the actual salary is highly dependent on the candidate's qualifications.
