Job Description:

Evergreen Advisors seeks to hire a CFO for our growing outsourced CFO Advisory Practice. This position is located in the Baltimore/Washington area. Evergreen Advisors is a leading investment bank and advisory firm focused on assisting emerging growth and middle-market companies in the areas of corporate finance, growth and exit strategies, valuations and advisory services.

We serve high-growth clients in companies in various industries. In a client's company that is growing this fast, it means you do what it takes; whether that is building a detailed financial model or reconciling a bank statement, our consultants must have a servant's attitude with our entrepreneurial clients.

The CFO will serve as a key member of the practice, working with the clients and taking substantial responsibility in performing financial models and focusing on proactive growth strategies for the company. The professional will also work closely with the practice CFO's in key business development initiatives.

Successful Candidates will have:

Broad and Deep Finance and Accounting Skills. Due to the broad nature of our work, our consultants must be capable of doing day-to-day accounting, have management skills, and have considerable financial analytical skills. Our consultants must also have experience designing and building an accounting department.

Leadership and Teaching Ability. Building an accounting and finance department in a rapidly growing company requires our consultants to be dynamic, motivational, and possess a teaching spirit.

Experience with Raising Capital or Debt. Knowledge in securing funding or managing debt arrangements is highly desirable.

Primary Responsibilities:

Financial Budgeting, Forecasting, and Reporting: Preparing reports on a regular basis, including monthly financial statements, cost reports, budgeting, forecasting reports, variance reports, and other financial reports as needed, including maintaining complex financial models.

Cash Management: Responsible for cash forecasting and Treasury advisement.

Accounting Management: Interfacing our clients with outside accounting firms and auditing liaisons with independent auditors, guidance on our clients' credit facilities, and accounts payable for all vendor invoices. Guidance on customers executing contracts, preparation of reports of commission payments, Preparation of information for tax return preparers, advice on the company's banking relationships and insurance needs, and proper accounting policies and procedures.

Board Meetings: Preparation and presentation of finance-related materials.

M&A Support and Fundraising: Prepare due diligence information as needed for debt/equity raises as required.

Qualifications

Accounting degree, CPA, and demonstrable experience.

The candidate should have demonstrated successful experience with debt/equity raises.

The candidate will have an established network in the Mid-Atlantic Region, especially the Washington / Northern Virginia Region.

Strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills, including advanced Excel skills and experience with various accounting systems.

Resourceful self-starter, able to work autonomously and as team player.
