SR1, an innovative nonprofit dedicated to community empowerment and helping K-12 students reach their highest potential, is seeking a passionate and experienced Accounting and Finance Manager. As a key financial leader, you will manage SR1's financial health and accountability, ensuring that our mission to enhance economic mobility and provide equitable access to education continues to flourish. Key Responsibilities:
1.Financial Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the financial operations of SR1, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and nonprofit financial regulations.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly financial statements, grant-specific reports, and annual budgets.
- Ensure compliance with all grant-related financial requirements, maintaining transparency and accuracy in reporting.
2. Grant Management:
- Manage financial aspects of grants, including tracking expenditures, ensuring proper allocation of funds, and preparing financial reports for grantors.
- Work closely with program staff to ensure effective use of funds and provide support during grant application and audit processes.
3. Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage annual budgets in coordination with senior management and program leaders.
- Monitor cash flow and make projections to support the organization's financial stability and growth.
- Assist in strategic planning, providing financial insights and analysis to support decision-making.
4. Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Maintain and improve internal financial controls, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Coordinate audits and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, GAAP, and other financial and tax reporting standards.
5. Team Collaboration and Development:
- Collaborate with other departments to align financial goals with program needs and community impact initiatives.
- Train and mentor finance staff, ensuring strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices and tools.
6.Additional Responsibilities: • Assist in preparing audits and compiling detailed financial reports for funders, ensuring transparency and accountability in the use of funds. • Prepare comprehensive financial reports for funders, detailing the allocation and impact of funds to support SR1's mission. • Learn and utilize CRM platforms, such as Blackbaud or Salesforce, to support fundraising efforts by tracking donor engagement, managing funding pipelines, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with a preference for nonprofit experience.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, grant management, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team in a mission-driven environment.
