As a Trade Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring Echodynes compliance with applicable trade regulations pertaining to imports and exports of goods, software, and technology. You will provide strategic leadership to navigate complex import and export rules, maintaining compliance in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage, continuously improve and build out Echodyne's global trade compliance program in line with applicable export and import regulations across various regions.
  • Create and implement procedures and tools that further Echodynes trade compliance strategy and the companys growth goals.
  • Partner closely with and assist Echodynes internal teams (Sales, R&D and Engineering, Product Management, Logistics and Marketing) with preparing and
  • managing export licenses, export- and customs classifications, exceptions/exemptions compliance, and day-to-day operations.
  • Manage the companys third-party diligence program to ensure effective sanctions screening and anti-corruption compliance.
  • Draft, review, submit, and manage required export licenses, classification requests (CCATS and Commodity Jurisdictions applications), and advisory opinions.
  • Ensure contractual compliance with export/import related obligations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional internal teams to maintain a cohesive export compliance posture, conduct training programs to raise awareness of export regulations, and lead audit programs to identify risks and implement corrective action plans.
  • Serve as the main contact for government audits and inquiries on export activities.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and advise on their impact on company operations.
  • Other related tasks required to fulfill the needs of the business.

REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Expert knowledge of U.S. export regulations, including ITAR and EAR.
  • Solid understanding of UK, EU, and ASEAN import and export regulations.
  • Leadership in developing and managing trade compliance programs.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking to navigate complex regulatory environments.
  • Project management skills to handle multiple compliance projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering, sales, product and supply chain teams.
  • Effective problem-solving to assess risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Strong communication skills for guiding internal teams and delivering compliance training.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in managing export licenses and regulatory documentation.
  • Experience interacting with government agencies, audits, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Adaptability to stay current with changing trade regulations and their impact.

DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
(Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)

  • Export compliance certifications (e.g., CUSECO, CCEP).
  • Logistics expertise or qualification(s).
  • Advanced degree in business, law, or international trade.
  • Familiarity with aerospace or radar product lines and industry-specific regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree (usually in business, law, international relations, or a related field).
  • 8+ years of experience in trade compliance, specifically in the aerospace, radar, or defense industry.
  • Expert knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and OFAC regulations with proven experience in export compliance.
  • Empowered Official (EO) designation (current or previous) under ITAR.
  • Experience managing government contracts and navigating export/import regulations.
  • Leadership experience in running a global compliance program.

Echodynes technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicants eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations. The pay range for this position is $129,250 $180,000 annually.
