Job Description:

Job Summary


The Crane Operator/Loader is responsible for handling materials as related to the shipping and receiving of inventory and customer orders. This position reports directly to the Operations Manager.


Job Responsibilities   




  • Crane and Forklift Operation: Safely operate overhead cranes and forklifts


  • Product Knowledge: Understand the products handled, including color coding and customer specifications; read and interpret all measuring devices


  • Shipping and Receiving: Unload and receive inbound stock shipments and load outbound shipments, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed


  • Loading Procedures: Safely load trucks, including proper chaining and tarping of trailers


  • Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations


Qualifications




  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience operating overhead cranes in an industrial or distribution environment


  • Certification: Valid certification to operate overhead cranes is required


  • Education: High School diploma or GED; or 1-3 months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Regulations Knowledge: Understanding of DOT regulations regarding load weight


  • Safety and Procedures: Ability to follow safety protocols and operational procedures


  • Dependability: Reliable with a strong work ethic


  • Learning and Training: Willingness to learn new skills and train others


  • Physical Examination: Ability to pass a physical examination for vision, hearing, and mobility


  • Reliability: Demonstrated reliable work history


  • Attention to Detail: Must be detail-oriented with a strong focus on precision and quality in all tasks
