Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Systems Engineering team in Santa Barbara, CA (ACT) is responsible for full lifecycle product development of Arthrex's industry leading camera systems. We are searching for an intern to support our team's desire to expand the capabilities within our reliability lab. The successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and development of custom fixtures, scripts, and protocols that will exercise our products in service of maintaining the highest levels of reliability. This person will work closely with SE colleagues to understand the problem space, develop novel approaches/methodologies, and implement them for use in our reliability lab.

This internship will run from May 2025 - August 2025. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility..

Main goal of Internship/ Co-op:
These interns would work collaboratively with each other, under guidance from our SE team, to develop custom test fixtures, scripts, and protocols for our reliability lab.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Custom reliability test fixtures/methods.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in Engineering degree is required. Focus in electrical engineering, computer engineering, physics, mathematics, computer science, or mechanical engineering is preferred. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Experience with basic automation (scripting, hardware, fixtures, etc.) is preferred.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
