Overview

The OHSU Clinical registered nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based, and efficient care to individuals, families, communities and patient populations. Department Specific Skills and Duties

• Participate in the development of care management principles for patients and families
• Follows standing orders/protocols in assisting with patient care.
• Cross coverage of patient care support staff as needed.
• Supports a team approach to patient care, in coordination with division and clinic leadership.
• Uses EMR to assist with patient care.
• Responsible for handling urgent/emergent calls per approved advice protocols.
• Actively coordinates care for patients as needed to meet sub-specialty specific best practice guidelines
• Develop appropriate educational programs for patients, families, and healthcare providers to advance best practice care in specialty areas

Responsibilities

• Associate or Bachelors Degree in Nursing from a program accredited by Commission of Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (CNEA)
• Associates Degree Nurses required to enroll in BSN program within 3 years of hire and complete within 5 years of hire
• Current unencumbered Oregon RN License
• Current BLS certifications from the American Heart Association required at time of hire
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without accomodation

Qualifications

• Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse Certification (CNRN) or other applicable advanced certification preferred
