Volt is immediately hiring for a Mechanic Technician Intern in Menomonie, WI.
As a Mechanic Technician Intern, you will:
Maintain a safe and organized work environment
Assist with the troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, operations, and improvement of mechanical and facilities equipment and components. These components may include pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, gearboxes, clutch and brake systems, pumps and valves, chillers, boilers, compressors, couplings and piping.
Perform basic machining including the set-up and operation of shop equipment and portable power tools. Use precision measuring tools for equipment set-up.
Perform basic welding and fabrication tasks.
Perform Preventive, Predictive, and Emergency Maintenance on site equipment.
The ideal Maintenance Technician candidate will have:
Candidates must be in their second year of a post-secondary education institution for an associate's degree in Mechatronics Specialist, Automation Engineering or equivalent for the Fall 2024 semester.
Candidates must be able to work part time (20 hours) between September 2024 through May 2025.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age before the position's start date and must have proof of a High School Diploma.
Qualified candidates will be required to complete the selection process and pass all pre-employment contingencies.
Schedule: 20 hours/week during the school year. Opportunity for more hours during breaks.
Pay Rate: $22.34 an hour
The pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
