Marine Logistics Specialist
Where will you work: On site 3 days a week /Hybrid 2 days a week. FishHawk (13830 Circa Crossing Drive Lithia, Florida 33547)
As a Marine Logistics Specialist, you'll support the Marine Chartering Lead in vessel operations, post-fixture activities, laytime calculations, and the reconciliation of vessel freight invoices. Your maritime industry knowledge will be crucial in defending Mosaic's position in laytime and demurrage disputes. You'll also track Dry Bulk freight markets to determine supply and demand trends. SAP/S4 skills are beneficial for collaborating with Accounts Payable to manage payments to vessel owners. Additionally, you'll support other marine operations, including port operations and stevedore oversight. You will thrive in this role if you are detail-oriented and have strong problem-solving skills.
What you'll do:
Support the Marine Chartering Lead in daily activities with finished and phosphate rock vessels.
Monitor and communicate nominations with internal and external stakeholders.
Review and adhere to Charter Parties.
Calculate laytime for finished fertilizer vessels for both international and US Jones Act shipments.
Defend Mosaic's position against vessel owners, including dead freight claims from stow plan discrepancies during loading operations.
Update the Veson system daily and support the development of the laytime module.
Settle and pay laytime calculations with vessel owners.
Reconcile and confirm the accuracy of initial and final freight invoices for all finished fertilizer and phosphate rock vessels.
Collaborate with Accounts Payable and the Senior Manager for freight payments and approvals.
Document all freight payments and assessorial charges for vessel activity.
Manage and pay vessel-related expenses with supporting documentation.
Provide backup support to other Marine Team members in executing marine operations, including port operations and stevedore oversight.
What you'll need:
Bachelor's degree in either Business (General); Maritime Degree, Logistics and Supply Chain Management
A minimum of three years of experience in maritime, supply chain, transportation, logistics, and or related field
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams
Analyze data to make value-added recommendations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to communicate in English
Bonus points if you have the following:

Experience with Veson IMOS
Experience with SAP
