The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $101,404 to $139,431
Purpose
Job Summary: The main function of the PI Senior System Engineer is to provide Administration and support with the installation, configuration, and support of OSI PI software and tools within the technical infrastructure. Develop Time saving analytics, business/use cases with stake holders in the Electric and Gas Operations Center, maintain Asset Framework, ensure Cyber Security posture/provide inputs on data security requirements, perform scheduled lifecycle management and maintenance on PI and PI connected systems, and design interfaces for the ingestion of data from other real-time systems as required.
Responsibilities
Support Grid Digitization through modeling real time data streams and creating a common Platform for Historian and Analytics.
Develop time saving use cases for Real time Analytics using the AVEVA PI historian suite of software tools.
Ensure appropriate levels of availability based on critical system functions and ensure that data requirements identify appropriate disaster recovery and continuity of operations requirements to include any appropriate fail-over/alternate site requirements, backup requirements, and material supportability requirements for system recover/restoration.
Provide input on data security requirements to be included in statements of work and other appropriate procurement documents.
Provide input to the Risk Management Framework process activities and related documentation (e.g., system life-cycle support plans, concept of operations, operational procedures, and maintenance training materials).
Define and document how implementation of new use cases support business objectives includes Cost benefit analysis.
Document and update as necessary all process and procedural changes.
Implementing Industrial Analytics/Smart Analytics using data from operational technologies to modify and optimize processes
Performing scheduled Industrial Life Cycle Management and maintenance on the PI system and other operational technology systems
Industrial Real-time System Administration for AVEVA/OSIsoft PI System, SEL Disturbance Monitoring, SKF, and Stack Vision, PQ View
Developing, deploying, and maintaining Utility Compliance documents (Federal and State), Creating Historian and analytics Process documents.
Automating and monitoring/maintaining PLC, Telemetry, Control System, and SCADA data streams
Performing software updates, server upgrades, OSI PI software Patching of OT and IT servers
Implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting AVEVA/OSIsoft industrial interfaces and software products
Managing time series and relational databases
Skills and Requirements
Education Required:
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science
3 years working with PI Historian Systems in an Administrator capacity
Understanding of data sets for both Gas and Electric Power Protection and Operations
Proven OSI PI historian best practices training
3 years of Historian and Analytics program implementation experience
Experience Required:
Deep Knowledge of OSI PI Historian System Administration, Analytics, and Reporting
Familiarity with industry data collection standards (OPC, SCADA, MODBUS, Relational DB, Web Services, ODBC, XML, etc.)
Deep knowledge of Data Acquisition and Distributed Control systems, SCADA, and PI Interfaces.
Data concepts and protocols (especially OT), and system and network data security methodologies.
Database systems Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, NoSQL
GIS and CIS Systems: ESRI GIS Data Structures, SAP Data Structures
Knowledge of critical infrastructure (NERC CIP)
Knowledge of data system management principles, Asset Framework models, methods (e.g., end-to-end systems performance monitoring), Perfmon and other tools.
Knowledge of multi-level data security and cross domain solutions related to PI historian.
Moderate Knowledge of Linux and Windows Administration including Kerberos authentication
Knowledge of PI-to-PI interfaces across domains.
Knowledge of data design processes, to include understanding of security objectives, operational objectives, and trade-offs.
Familiarity with ABB Hitachi Network Manager SCADA
Familiarity with AVEVA Enterprise SCADA (Formerly known as OASyS)
Knowledge of data systems testing and evaluation methods.
Ability to integrate business process and technology solutions
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, IT, engineering, data science, or related field
Minimum of 4 years of IT experience showing progressive responsibilities
Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
Minimum 4 years of windows and Linux server administration experience in a domain environment.
Experience in working with the entire OSI/PI Software Suite.
Familiarity with industry data collection standards (OPC, SCADA, MODBUS, Relational DB, Web Services, ODBC, XML, etc.)
Good knowledge of Data Acquisition and Distributed Control systems, SCADA and PI Interfaces.
Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software and its related infrastructure components and/or operating environment identified in the assignment requirements.
Ability to integrate business process and technology solutions
