Research Histology Imaging services is a fast-paced imaging research laboratory supporting multiple clinical trials in digital imaging and pathology.
Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Functions
Provide support for our lab operations by performing imaging tasks, including integration with scanned glass slide datasets.
Imaging tasks include: retrieval and scanning on novel imaging modalities (e.g. whole slide scanners), including brightfield and fluorescence microscopy.
Responsibilities include supporting clinical trials, scanner evaluations, retrieval of glass slides, imaging, interaction with scanning vendors and troubleshooting software/hardware isues as necessary.
This position should be able to work independently and with a team of pathologists, other imaging specialists and project management to drive the mission of the Digital Pathology Reserach Center.
Previous pathology digital imaging experience is recommended, but not required.
Physical Effort
This position is primarily sedentary. There will be some lifting and walking between different areas of the department.
