About the Role
In this role, you will partner with our brands & corporate functions across the globe, to continuously drive value across non-Merchandise categories. You will establish, analyze, and refine the business's procurement strategy ensuring alignment with business goals. Make certain we do the right thing as an organization by optimizing our purchasing power, building, and maintaining strategic vendor relationships, and contract management.
Reporting to the Sr. Category Manager, Procurement, the Category Manager 2 will be responsible for:
Executing marketing category strategy & implementation plan. Manage supplier relationships and perform contract negotiations (digital marketing and other media category related agreements). Support cross-functional teams in sourcing projects, ensuring alignment with business goals. Provide input to category strategy based on market dynamics, supplier landscape and business needs within focus area. Support senior procurement staff in various strategic initiatives.
What You'll Do
Value Capture - Accountable and oversee development and execution of procurement strategies for digital marketing and media related categories. Responsible for achieving procurement savings (P&L, Capital, and Non-P&L) targets for these categories. Create and manage a multi-year pipeline of projects that will deliver value year over year.
Sourcing Rigor - Actively promote a competitive bid culture for all marketing procurement projects by applying advanced levers and strong shift in how the team works.
Category Management -Creation and execution of deep category strategies. Develop category management expertise that translates into actionable multi-year sourcing strategies.
Team Development/Coaching - Collaborate with global team of category managers to become a high performing thought partner to the business who consistently delivers top-quartile value that is aligned with the business priorities.
Procurement Technology - have a strong understanding and experience with using procurement technology (i.e. spend analytics, sourcing, eAuction, CLM) that will allow you and the team to be more efficient in the ways of working. Develop and maintain in-depth spend analytics, category segmentation and supplier profiling to enable opportunity mining and category management.
Build and strengthen strategic relationships - successfully partner across functions (GTS, Finance, InfoSec, Legal, and Risk Management) and partner with senior internal stakeholders, external suppliers, and colleagues to drive results and facilitate complex change management across the enterprise.
Leverage strong influencing skills - balance speed, different priorities and urgency while proactively considering new alternatives and driving critical thinking to optimize results.
Who You Are
Experience - Demonstrated experience in Procurement or related, preferred experience in digital marketing and media related category management. Strong problem-solving & communication skills. Self-starter/proactive manager, curious learner, adaptability/agility to change, accountability, strong project manager, ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
Sourcing Capability - experience driving long-term results through category strategies, levering in-depth market knowledge, collaboration and influencing at all levels of a global organization. Category expertise in digital marketing, media, email, SMS, affiliate, social and influencer categories.
Drive for Results - Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate and lead others in an ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable results to the organization. Strong analytical skills with ability to dig in and find cost savings opportunities and high attention to details and financial rigor.
Excellent executive level communication and presentation skills.
Change Leadership - Experience leading with and without authority to influence others and drive decision-making. Always driven by questions What If? and Why not?
In-depth expertise in Category Management and related processes - Develop category knowledge and regularly leverage industry experts, associations, peers, and business partners to identify and benchmark best practices.
Education - Bachelor's Degree or Masters Degree preferred, or equivalent years of experience. Six Sigma, CPSM or similar certification is a plus.
