Job Title:Credentials SpecialistDepartment:Strategic Enrollment | Undergraduate Admissions

The Credentials Specialist provides domestic and international credentials evaluation services for Undergraduate Admissions and various academic units. The Credentials Specialist will learn to exercise professional judgment to interpret university policies, domestic and international credentials evaluation to aid the decision-making process for freshman and transfer applications. Functions primarily as a domestic undergraduate application credentials evaluator, but learns and develops proficient understanding in international educational systems, secondary and post-secondary educational structures, programs, policies, procedures, majors/academic unit requirements, and admission requirements. Interprets and evaluates domestic and international high school and/or postsecondary education credentials based on guidance around university structures, programs, policies, procedures, and admission requirements for an application pool of 70,000+ applicants. Develops and maintains strong proficiency in using the PeopleSoft and OnBase systems to enter and maintain secondary and post-secondary school credentials. Researches information online and contacts high school/post-secondary officials to correctly interpret credentials and resolve discrepancies. Ensures credentials evaluations are completed accurately and timely. Completes special projects related to learning and understanding evaluation, responds to internal inquiries regarding the processing and review of admission applications. Uses independent judgment to determine severity of errors/issues and the best way to correct them. Works as an Undergraduate Admissions representative to answer questions from other internal and external offices in the review and compilation of application documents for admission, transfer and re-admission. Serves as the department's point of contact for admission inquiries by serving as the rotating evaluator contact for communicating and explaining undergraduate admissions procedures and policy to internal offices. Serve on departmental and campus committees, as appropriate. Performs special projects and programs as assigned.




Education/Experience

Required: Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with desktop technologies.



Desired: Understanding of evaluation and interpretation of international and domestic educational credentials. Experience working with student information systems. 1-2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Additional Information:

The pay range for this job profile is $17.31 - $22.77. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications. This position is approved to work a hybrid schedule with 3 days on-site and up to 2 days remote.
