* preservation of the environment, ecosystems, and water quality
The person needs to have the appropriate background to run some sophisticated laboratory equipment. Equipment includes: wind tunnel; moving track sprayer; high-speed video systems with allied facilities for droplet generation and measurement of formulation physical properties including an oscillating jet system for determination of dynamic surface tension; UV/VIS and fluorescence/luminescence spectrophotometers; gas chromatograph with mass spectrometer capability; cold-field emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (EDXA) that permits morphological identification of organisms and chemical characterization and quantification of exogenous chemicals (i.e.. fungicides, insecticides); high shear rate viscosity measurement unit; droplet evaporation measurement system; mono-size droplet generator.
The Visiting Scholar will complete research for the purposes of their own personal and professional growth and experience.
