VET TECH C RENAL TRANSPLANT at University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Description:

Duties: Assist with screening of potential recipients and donor patients, including client education and referring veterinarian consultation. Assist in surgery during transplant procedures. Develop rapport with all levels of staff throughout hospital to ensure exceptional pre- and postoperative management of recipients and donors. Assess patients on a regular basis and communicate concerns appropriately. Maintain transplant patient database. Assist with clinical research projects relative to transplant patients. Communicate with clients and referring veterinarians to ensure consistent follow-up care for all patients. Train / assist new surgeons and residents relative to transplant technology. Update clinicians and staff on patient status and progression. Assist other areas on nursing as assigned. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: An Associate's Degree or two year college equivalent and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Certified Veterinary Technician.
