The Office of Academic Administration at the Stanford Graduate School of Business is looking for a Data and Reporting Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing reporting, data visualization, and system access management at the Graduate School of Business (GSB). This includes coordinating with department leadership to accurately report on course evaluations, faculty data, and record-keeping, managing administrative processes, and ensuring the quality of data communicated inside and outside the department. Documenting and policy management will also fall under this role.


Beyond these responsibilities, the Data and Reporting Manager will also be responsible for system access such as updating a variety of workgroups for incoming and outgoing faculty, creating and tending to SUNet ID sponsorships, and auditing membership in GoogleGroups and on email lists.This work will ensure faculty and others have the appropriate access to internal systems and communications. You will work closely with the IT department to address and resolve any access-related issues.


Additionally, you will oversee faculty profile change management, updating all faculty lists, and communicating with the marketing team to ensure public websites reflect our current faculty and their titles. Lastly, you will maintain and update the GSB's internal Faculty Resource Guide website, collaborating with various departments to ensure the content remains current, accessible, and user-friendly.


TheData and Reporting Manager will be an individual with a track record in project management and the ability to drive programs that support the organization's mission. The candidate should possess strong analytical skills and collaborate closely with partners and stakeholders across campus. In addition to an ability to build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally, they must be a team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of working on challenging as well as routine assignments with minimal supervision.

Your primary responsibilities* include:





  • Oversee the data reporting for the course evaluation process including implementing, administering, and evaluating the system and process for accuracy, confidentiality, and integrity of evaluation data. Act as backup for coordinating with faculty and students to ensure timely completion and access to evaluations. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to the online course evaluation system.

  • Create and disseminate data reports for course evaluations, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of this essential feedback mechanism. Communicate, convey, and visualize course evaluation results information to the students, faculty, staff and the organization's leadership structure in a manner to "tell the story" behind the data.

  • Design and customize analytical reports based upon data in the database. Create complex charts and dashboards, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for presentations and for decision makers.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert resource for the team and GSB leadership for non-routine inquiries such as requests for statistics or surveys.

  • Oversee system access management by updating workgroups for incoming and outgoing faculty, creating, updating and terminating sponsorships of Stanford University Network IDs (SUNet IDs), as well as auditing and updating membership in specific GoogleGroups and Email Lists.

  • Document, interpret and uphold policies and processes around data management for Academic Administration.

  • Administer access to various internal systems, ensuring that faculty, staff, and students have the necessary permissions and access. Regularly review and update user access to ensure compliance with university policies. Address and resolve access-related issues in collaboration with the IT department.

  • Manage Academic Administration data survey participation and data entry for internal and external surveys.

  • Faculty Profile change management - ensure the current faculty list is correct, up to date and that all changes are reported to the marketing team so they can update the external websites.Approve all Faculty Profile changes.

  • Maintain and update the GSB's internal Faculty Resource Guide website, ensuring content is current, accessible, and user-friendly by collaborating with various departments to gather and publish relevant information.





To be successful in this position, you will bring:





  • Bachelor's degree and three years relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions.

    • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

    • Ability to track, monitor and adhere to deadlines.

    • Ability to learn university systems highly desirable.



  • Relevant subject matter knowledge.

    • Documented and demonstrated experience working with databases, Tableau, and other data visualization software.

    • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills.

    • Ability to use visual data tools to present data clearly to non-technical audiences.



  • Excellent project management and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.




The expected pay range for this position is $69,100 to $120,000 per year.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location and external market pay for comparable jobs.
